Hello Beloiters!

Early voting is open in the state of Wisconsin! With only a little over a week left until Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5 (which is a day with no classes, for Beloit and Beyond), it’s an important week for voting. If you’re eligible to vote in Wisconsin, here are some tips for students (and faculty and staff living in Beloit’s Ward 12) to ensure your vote is counted.

You can check to see if you’re already registered at myvote.wi.gov, as well as see what items you need to register, including proof of address/residence and a photo ID.

Before Election Day

You can register and vote before Election Day at Beloit City Hall. Walk, bike, or drive down to 100 State St. from today (Monday, Oct. 28) through Thursday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or Friday, Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Register to vote on the second floor in the City Clerk’s office. In-person absentee voting will take place in the first floor conference room. You can register and vote the same day.

During Election Day

Otherwise, plan to cast your ballot on Nov. 5 at First Congregational Church. Our polling place is one block from campus at 801 Bushnell St. and is open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. You can register to vote on Election Day. There are no classes on Election Day, so plan out when you will vote in between student presentations at the Beloit and Beyond Conference.

  • Men’s and women’s swimming and diving kicked off their season with a home meet against Lawrence University. Both teams were beaten by the Vikings. However, the highlights of the meet were senior diver Helena Harrison’25 breaking the record for the 1 M dive with a score of 212.35, and first-year Lydia Nordgren’28 breaking the 100 M butterfly record with a time of 59.46.
  • Women’s soccer played two close games but dropped two 1-0 conference games to Lake Forest and Grinnell College. They will play at Illinois College at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. A good result for the Bucs could punch their ticket into the Midwest Conference Tournament.
  • Football played a talented Monmouth College team this weekend and dropped the game 55-3. They will host Senior Day against Lake Forest this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Strong Stadium.
  • Men’s soccer played a pair of Midwest Conference matchups. They dropped the first to Lake Forest, 4-1, and the second to Grinnell College, 8-2.
