First week of classes

Hello, Beloiters! It feels great to have everyone together on campus again. We are excited to kick off this year with a continued focus on transformative learning experiences and enhancing our campus environment.

Starting the academic year

Remember to attend Convocation this afternoon to celebrate the start of the new academic year. New students should meet with their orientation leaders at 4:10 pm. The ceremony starts at 4:30 pm in front of the Science Center, followed by a picnic in Chapin Quad.

Wright Museum exhibits

All exhibits run from August 27 through November 16. Visit the Wright Museum any time Tuesday - Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4p.m.

  • Day One DNA: 50 Years in Hip-hop Culture: Celebrating Ice T and DJ Afrika Islam’s legacy while journeying through their creative process and influences.
  • Tierra Y Libertad: Highlighting the work of modern and contemporary Latinx artists.
  • Voices of Art: Voices of Art explores the ways in which art has had and can have a message to foster social change.

Sky Carp baseball

Come join your fellow Beloiters and see Beloit’s minor league baseball team play at the annual Beloit College Night at the Sky Carp game on Thursday, August 29 at 6:35 p.m.

Admission is free with your Beloit College ID, and discount tickets are available for family and friends. Please enter the ABC Supply Stadium from Mill Street, across from the US Post Office.

President Eric Boynton will be throwing out the first pitch. Be sure to wear your Beloit College gear!

McNair Scholar Olivia Alvarado’25 learned a great deal about herself in two weeks at the University of Michigan’s Humanities Emerging Research Scholars Program. There, Olivia presented quantitative research about the unhoused in the Beloit area and found a greater sense of confidence in their abilities.

Annual Geology Fall Field Trip

The geology department’s annual beginning-of-the-semester field trip is Sunday, Sept. 8 and is open to all. We will visit the Lake Michigan shoreline and have the opportunity to collect cool beach rocks and fossils. Please complete the sign-up form.

Audition for Sagittarius Ponderosa play
