Welcome to our newest students

The Morse Library main level near the end of its renovation.A more efficient and accessible library will be open for students when they arrive for classes, with more study spaces and updated facilities. Morse Library is one of many buildings improved over the summer.

Hello, Beloiters! We hope you had a great summer! Our facilities and construction crews have been working hard on building improvements across campus, including a newly renovated Whitney Hall and Morse Library. Read more below.

Believe it or not, classes start in a week, so we are already seeing some students return to campus. International students have already arrived, new domestic students arrive Wednesday, and returning students arrive Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 24-25).

Welcome Class of 2028

We extend a very warm welcome to our new students who move in on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Below is part of the schedule for New Student Days, listing many great opportunities for you to begin meeting and making new Beloiter friends:

After your first day of classes on Monday, Aug.26, be sure to attend Convocation, an event (and fancy word) marking the new academic year. Students, faculty, and staff will then gather for a picnic in Chapin Quad.

Summer Transformation: Campus-Wide Improvements

As we welcome the new academic year, let’s highlight the remarkable changes that are reshaping our campus:

  • Whitney Hall Revival: A $3.3 million investment has breathed new life into this residence hall, welcoming students this Friday with a modernized living experience.
  • DK’s returns: Pearsons Hall will now have grab-and-go options for coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Opening date announcement coming soon.
  • Morse Library Reimagined: Floors 2 and 3 reopen after extensive renovations, now housing LITS, Career Works, and Impact Beloit. The flood-affected lower level targets a mid-September opening, with archives following later in the semester.
  • Hendricks Center Transformation: A state-of-the-art costume shop is under construction in the lower level, with additional enhancements to support Theatre and Media Studies programs.
  • Mayer Hall’s Tech Upgrade: The Wood Room emerges as a computer lab, replacing MI 107.
  • Campus-Wide Improvements:
    • New roofs installed on several buildings, including Mauer, 810 College Street, Mayer Hall, Godfrey, and Hendricks Center.
    • Comprehensive renovations in 815 College Street: plumbing upgrades, roof repairs, fresh paint, and modern vinyl plank flooring.
  • Strategic Relocations:
    • Pearsons Hall’s next phase will enhance accessibility and aesthetics, becoming the home of the Business School.
    • The Global Experience Office is set to occupy the first floor of Campbell Hall, centralizing global education resources.
    • Advancement Staff will transition to the garden level of Morse-Ingersoll this semester, optimizing administrative spaces.
    • Communications and Marketing has relocated to Middle College.

These enhancements represent just the beginning of our ongoing commitment to creating an unparalleled educational environment. Stay tuned for more exciting developments as we continue to improve your experience.
